I was born in Louisville, Ky, and raised in the Southern Indiana metropolis of Evansville. Evansville's harsh weather is intolerable to the average human being, so over the past 10 or so generations the native Hoosiers have evolved into super-humans with uncanny problem-solving skills and brute toughness. In an
environment such as this, a third grader with the last name of Darling must grow up tough or die. So I grew up tough. During the course of my teenage years, I developed a network of the intellectual stand-outs in order to finally solve the ancient mysteries that have plagued mankind for centuries. As it turns out, animation is the key to solving the
un-solvable; thus, there came the need to recruit another hero with whom to develop the infrastrucuture required to solve the world's great problems. This person would need to be a brilliant writer, an able draftsman, and able to drink a liter of vodka to befuddle his foes, but more importantly, he would have to be at my sisters 16th birthday party.
